I'm back - with a few photos

Sunrise on our first hard frost of the year.

The thick frost on our field looks almost like snow, and no sheep to be seen. Still in bed!

Even nettles look lovely, tipped with frost.

Hooke Park Woods - miles from anywhere and very quiet

The trees at the entrance to my village - on a main road and not quiet

A small copse nearby looks like stumpwork embroidery, or tweed

The birds aren't hungry enough yet!

Now it is raining non-stop, the leaves will soon go mushy.

A day out with my girlfriends coincides with the switching on of the Christmas lights in Exeter.
This looks really chilly, but its not snow on the ground, just white paving in the square!

Our visitors have gone back to sunny Florida, and back in Dorset, we settle down to winter. The heating is on, and the Man of the House is practising carols on his cornet.

How lovely to see you posting again Val! The frost, the beautiful trees...all your photos are wonderful! I absolutely love seeing your picturesque area. We had a snowy weekend and then a half inch of rain last night so our snow is all gone and our leaves will be mushy by now too.
Those crab apples are a marvelous colour!
I especially love the group photo with your friends. They look like such a fun group.
Welcome back!

Hello Val....
Welcome back. What a lovely selection of pictures you’ve treated us to. We’ve had our first fall of snow on the mountains and low lying hills. Despite this and a few frosts, there is still colour in the garden..... I can’t believe we are just a month away from Christmas.

How lovely to have had guests from America staying, I’m sure you had a wonderful time showing them around, particularly if it was their first visit. Nice to see you out with the girls. Have a great weekend. Marion

I love the photo with the square in the background. It does look like a winter scene in a cozy village.

Lovely photos, Val and a very peaceful bog site! I just started a blog a couple weeks ago and found yours via Jim Otterstroms's (who is one of my inspirations). Seems that you & I share a birth sign and a love of the outdoors!

Thanks for sharing your part of the world with us!

Peace,
Linda
